Program for Parents: A presentation by Mr. Andy Whitney, M Ed Harvard University, Early Childhood Educator, Jakarta Int’l School. The topic is a teacher's perspective of Hearing Impaired Children at general school.
The topic really touched the heart of all parents of children with hearing impairment as well as teachers at both mainstream schools and special schools. The auditorium of RS PIK, was jam - packed with more than 60 participants excluding children who were having their own special program supported by First Step Preschool. We were truly fortunate to be able to have Mr. Andrew Whitney contribution to our foundation. He shared his first hand on practical experiences, perspectives and suggestions in handling and communicating with a child with hearing impairment in main stream school(in his class at The Jakarta International School). The workshop was a great success, well received, engaging and for sure appreciated by both parents and teachers as it's truly a topic dear and near to their hearts.
